Christoph Richter returns to Penzance

Bach by popular demand!

One year ago cellist Christoph Richter mesmerised a packed St. John’s Hall with two of Bach’s suites for solo cello – an unforgettable occasion for everyone present.  Christoph Richter returns to Concerts Penzance on Saturday November 30th for a recital including three more of Bach’s Suites for solo cello.

One of the most sought after musicians in Europe, in the last 30 years Christoph has also become one of the most frequent and highly respected visitors to the International Musicians’ Seminars in West Cornwall.  His diary in 2013/14 includes concerts in Seoul (Korea), Salzburg, Basel, Zürich, Cologne and Luxemburg, and he will complete his cycle of all the Bach’s solo cello suites and  gamba sonatas at London’s Kings Place Bach Festival.

There is something about these Suites that seems so timeless and eternal, that seems to speak directly to the soul, and Christoph has that very rare quality in his playing that allows the music to speak simply and directly to the audience without fuss or showmanship – just pure beauty and revelation.  Do come along to St. John's Hall to hear this concert and please tell all your music loving friends too.

Tickets costing £10 or £2 for under 19s are available on the door or in advance from West Penwith Music, Union Street, Penzance 01736 364440 and Mounts Bay Wine, Bread Street, Penzance 01736 364118.  A wine and soft drinks bar will be open from 6.45pm.
